Kevin W. Knipe, 66

Kevin W. Knipe, 66, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport.

Born on December 20, 1957, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late C. Howard and Eleanor J. (Brown) Knipe. Kevin graduated from Williamsport Area High School, class of 1975. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a pressman for Grit Publishing and Reed-Hann Printing Company and later worked in farming.

Kevin’s interests were as broad as they were engaging. He felt connected to the earth, with farming and agriculture being not just hobbies, but a way of life. He found great joy in building homes, a testament to his ability to create and nurture spaces for others to thrive. His large hands were rarely still, always busy fixing things, engaged in repair work, or crafting wood into objects of both utility and beauty. As an avid outdoorsman, Kevin also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He worked hard his whole life, yet, it was in helping people that Kevin’s true colors shone brightest. He was the first to offer assistance, whether it involved a complicated repair or a simple act of kindness. His selfless nature made him a pillar in his community, someone who could always be relied upon, no matter the circumstance.

Surviving are four brothers, Sharrel Knipe of Liberty, Arland Knipe (Gloria) of Cogan Station, Randy Knipe (Tina) of Linden, and Craig Knipe (Sandy) of Cogan Station, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sally Knipe.

In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Kevin’s name to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, 3301 Wahoo Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
