Kevin David Choate, 66

Kevin David Choate of Sullivan County, went to be with Jesus on November 30, 2024 while surrounded by his loved ones at his beloved cabin, Innisfree.

Kevin was born in Williamsport and preceded in death by his parents, C. David Choate and Rose Caringi Choate, a son Kelley A. Choate, as well as father-in-law Chester Harbach.

Following graduation from WAHS, he served in the U.S. Navy for four and a half years, and then graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Special Education. From there, he committed his time teaching special education and coaching football at Williamsport High School. He dedicated time at the Lycoming County Prison helping inmates obtain their GED’s. He was a dedicated member at First Church, a counselor at Camp Penn, and had a love for the outdoors that he shared with his children and grandchildren.

One of his biggest passions was pouring his heart into building relationships with the kids that he served.

Most importantly he loved his family unconditionally, his wife Kathy; his children, Abby (Andrew) Jones, Alex (Kristin) Choate and Ben Choate; and his most precious grandchildren, Theo, Jolene, Abbie, Izzy and Caleb. He was excited about his newest grandson, Noah, who is on the way.

Kevin is survived by his sisters, Kathy (Ray) Price and Karen (Larry) Choate Bassett; his brothers in law, Rick (Marnie) and Charley (Cindy) Harbach; mother-in-law Barbara Harbach; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 5, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at First Church, 604 Market St., Williamsport, PA 17701, followed by a celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m.
