June Shangraw, 93, of Williamsport, died Monday, November 25, at Williamsport North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born December 23, 1930, in North Bend, she was a daughter of the late Albert Fye and Margaret (Baker) Fye.
Following her graduation from North Bend School District, June was employed at the former Weldon’s for several years before retiring from Loyalsock School District where she worked in the cafeteria.
June was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and enjoyed word puzzles, playing Bingo, watching Days of Our Lives, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her first great-grandson, Landon. She also loved spending time with her beloved cats and dogs.
Surviving is a daughter, Debra (Rick Sortman) Shangraw, of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Matthew Sortman, Mariah Sortman, and Ashley Sortman; a great-grandson, Landon Torres; and two nieces, Suzanne Bastian, of Williamsport, and Kim George, of Rote.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph Shangraw.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
