Joyce Rose Shaffer, 89, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Gatehouse Hospice following a brief illness. Born May 16, 1929 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Margaret (Houser) Heivly. She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1947.

Joyce and Robert were the former owners of S & S Tool & Die, as well as the Tiadaghton Post restaurant. In addition, her high energy led her to waitressing at Howard Johnson’s, and her love of fashion gave her fulfillment working at Fashion Bug and Leslie Fay. Joyce enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, traveling to Florida, playing bingo, watching her favorite programs and listening to murder mystery tapes. She enjoyed being active and spent her younger years playing racquetball and tennis, for which she had won many awards.
