John W. Livezey, Sr., 76

John W. Livezey, Sr., 76, of New Albany, Pennsylvania died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Born March 1, 1948, in Croydon, PA, he was a son of the late John K. and Dolores (McIlvaine) Livezey. He and his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” M. (Craven) Livezey, celebrated 55 years together having married on May 17, 1974. John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fast cars, guns, hunting, tractors, and tinkering in his shop. He loved animals and has raised many types of animals over the years, from a silver fox and monkey to pigs and chickens. Family was important to John, as he came from a big family, but John loved spending his time with both his family and his friends. He particularly enjoyed sharing a laugh in his garage or talking over a cup of coffee.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Betty, are three children: John (Tara) Livezey, Jr., of Dushore, Christa (John) Parish, of Macungie, and Tom (Nichole Pedro) Livezey, of Muncy Valley, seven grandchildren: Isaiah, Sophia, Jackson, Madison, Ethan, Colin and Holden (exp.); one great-grandchild, Silas, and numerous sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at McCarty Thomas Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St. Dushore, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Ron Dyer officiating.
