John R. Lundy, 53, of Cogan Station, was welcomed to heaven by Jesus, hearing “Well done, good and faithful servant” on Saturday, February 15, 2025 while serving a brother in Christ.
Born December 25, 1971, in Williamsport, he was a son of Charles and Rosemary (Agnone) Lundy (South Williamsport).
John was a student athlete (football) of Montoursville High School, Class of 1990. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University and a BS in Surveying from Penn College. Following graduation, John was employed at HRI Inc. as an estimator/project manager for 23 years, before transitioning to Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority as a project manager.
John was a faithful member and servant leader at Hope Community Church-Loyalsock from its inception. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed cutting wood, mowing grass, and metal scrapping. John also enjoyed restoring antique motorsports vehicles and was a proud “card-holding member” of the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association. Playing “BINGO BINGO BINGO”, camping, helping those in need, and above all, spending time with his family and friends, especially being a “DuDah” to his first grandchild, Arwen, filled his free time.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his wife of 26 years, Stephanie L. (Lunt) Lundy; two daughters, Taylor (Tyler) Henry of Williamsport, and Rebekah Lundy of Montoursville; two grandchildren, Arwen Henry, and Baby Girl Henry expected this June; a brother, David (Mindy) Lundy of Cogan Station; and a nephew, Lance Lundy of Cogan Station.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Louie and Anna Agnone; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Maxine Lundy.
Following John’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at mccartythomas.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s honor to the John R. Lundy Memorial scholarship at Montoursville Area High School (Montoursville Jersey Shore State Bank) or the Global Missions Fund at Hope Community Church-Loyalsock.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
