John “Jimmy” L. Patterson, 76

John “Jimmy” L. Patterson, 76, of Cogan Station, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home. He was born in Jersey Shore on January 5, 1942 to the late James E. and Lillian (Gyori) Patterson. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1964 – 1966 at Fort Sill, OK. Jimmy proposed to his wife on the famous hill known as Mount Scott by Lake Elmer Thomas at Fort Sill. He was owner of Patterson Construction for many years. He was a member of the John F. Laedlin Masonic Lodge #707.

Jimmy was a born again Christian, who was a dedicated family man with a heart of gold. He was an exemplary role model, very patient with everyone and an excellent teacher. Jimmy was the best Husband, Dad, and Pap that anyone could have ever asked for. Jimmy enjoyed family picnics, get togethers and holiday gatherings with his family whom he loved with all his heart. His other favorite pastimes included bowling, hunting, participating in tractor pulls with his grandson and cheering on his granddaughters at their sporting events.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Baird) Patterson, a daughter, Amy Lorson (Chris) of Jersey Shore, four grandchildren, Alleshia Fink of New Orleans, Justin Fink (Danielle) of Jersey Shore, Reba Lorson of Jersey Shore, and Rachel Lorson of Jersey Shore, two great granddaughters, Olivia and Sophia Fink of Jersey Shore, a brother, Gordon Patterson of Trout Run, and four sisters, Ruthie Forer of Muncy, Arlene Fischer of Woolrich, Joan Hakes of Williamsport, and Sharon Blackwell of Trout Run.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Patterson and Tom Patterson, and one sister, Carol Pedigo.

A private memorial service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.
