John C. Yarosz passed away tragically on Oct. 19, 2019. He was born on March 24, 1953, to Leon and Frances Yarosz.
John graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1974 then he went on to get his bachelor’s degree at Edinboro University. He was an active member of Sons of the American Legion, Post 1. John was an active volunteer at Help Yourself Agency located on Locust Street in Williamsport. He received the Volunteer of the Month and Advocacy Service awards for his work with North Central Sight Services. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from Williamsport Hospital for years of volunteer service, placing him on the honor roll of volunteers.
John enjoyed sports and supported the women’s volleyball team at Lycoming College and often attended games at Bowman Field, supporting local baseball teams.
John is survived by his sister, Patricia Yarosz Hoffman, of Nevada, brother, Joseph Yarosz, of Colorado, and sister, Ruth Yarosz Bothwell, of California.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond L. Yarosz, and sister, Nancy C. Weaver.
Visitation in John’s honor will be held at noon to 2 p.m., on Nov. 22, at Crouse funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
