Jean “Jeanie” L. Laurrell, a cherished mother, gram/gigi, and great-gigi passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 78.
Born on October 2, 1946, in Williamsport, to the late Eugene and Doris (Lape) Deitrick.
Jeanie married James “Jim” on August 5, 1966. They recently observed their 59th wedding anniversary.
Jeanie was a 1964 graduate of Williamsport Area High School. Jeanie was retired as a cashier by Acme/Bilo Markets located on West Fourth Street in Williamsport.
Jeanie lived a full and vibrant life marked by her dedication to her family. Jeanie loved shopping and traveling with her husband, family holiday celebrations, cooking, homemaking and caring for her faithful dog, Mo.
Besides her husband James, Jeanie’s legacy is carried on by her three loving daughters, Stacey McCarrier (Dave) of South Williamsport, Jennifer A. Klotz (Frank) of Buena Vista, NJ and April Gardner (Mike) of Williamsport.
Jeanie was a proud Gram/Gigi to five grandchildren, David McCarrier (Katie), Matthew McCarrier (Brian Gottschall), Jimmy Gardner (Dacia), Mikey Gardner (Morgan Raup) and Jack Klotz. Jeanie’s family further extends to three great-grandchildren, Londyn, Madelyn and Conor McCarrier.
Jeanie is survived by her five siblings; three sisters, Judy Winter of Williamsport, Joan Gilbert (Richard) of Montoursville, Cathy Wagner of New Hampshire and two brothers, Jim Deitrick (Nancy) of South Carolina and Steve Deitrick (Angela) of Florida. Jeanie was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Carl Winter. Jeanie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanie was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport.
In accordance with Jeanie’s wishes, there will be no public services held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sanders Mortuary, located at 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.
