Janelle D. Miller, 69, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, in her hometown of Jersey Shore. Janelle was born on August 2, 1956, to the late Torrence L. “Ted” and Jane E. (Bowers) Miller in Jersey Shore. Janelle was a cherished member of her community and beloved by all who knew her.
Janelle dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as the Customer Service Manager at Walmart in Mill Hall. Her kindness and dedication to her work left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers alike.
A woman of many passions, Janelle loved the color purple and found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her treasured granddaughters and great-granddaughter. Her creativity shone through her love of crafts and painting, where she expressed herself through a myriad of projects. She was also known for delighting in the simple pleasure of popping bubble wrap, sharing smiles and laughter with those around her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Janelle leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her son, Wayne Houseknecht, Jr., and his wife Abby; her granddaughters, Hannah Houseknecht and Camrynne Shade; and her great-granddaughter, Emersyn Taylor. Janelle is also survived by her companion and significant other, Steve Allen. They, along with countless friends, will miss her warmth, humor, and love.
A gathering to honor Janelle’s life will take place at the Jersey Shore Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, where family and friends are welcome to pay their respects from 11 AM to 12 PM. A service will follow promptly at 12 PM, with burial occurring directly afterward in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
