Hannah B. Jarrett, 85, of Turbotville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born April 15, 1933 in Anthony Twp., Montour Co., she was the daughter of the late Allen W. and Mildred (Temple) Betz. On December 25, 1952, she was married to Earle F. Jarrett and they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Hannah was a 1952 graduate of Northmont High School, Turbotville. She worked as a seamstress for Turbotville Dress Factory, and for other textile factories. Hannah was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed the Jolly Bunch and in earlier years, helping with the Altar Guild and the nursery.
She loved playing cards, bingo, fishing and camping. She had quite the collection of hummingbirds and cardinals throughout her home.
In addition to her husband, Earle, she is survived by her three children: Debra E. Webb and her husband Dennis, of Turbotville, Thomas E. Jarrett and his wife Patt, of Stroudsburg, and Pamela S. Hendricks and her husband Jim, of Turbotville; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Gladys (Dio) Yost, of Conneaut Lake, Jean Long, of Northumberland, and Janet McCarty, of Muncy.
Preceding her in death besides her parents where her three brothers: Clarence, Layton, and William Betz; and three sisters: Clara Benfer, Olive Mincemoyer, and Dorothy Stover.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 3 PM Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise Street, Turbotville, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM with her pastor, Rev. Erwin C. Roux, officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to either Zion Lutheran Church for the current renovations, PO Box 277, Turbotville, PA 17772, or to the Warrior Run Fire Department, PO Box 8, Watsontown, PA 17777.
