H.C. Frederick Keeler, Sr., 82, of Montoursville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at UPMC Muncy Place.
Born February 19, 1942, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Clayton and Martha (Foust) Keeler.
Growing up and living in Nordmont really inspired Fred to find his love for the outdoors. He was always found outside either in the woods hunting or out in the local waterways fishing. One could often find Fred spending time at his cabin in Nordmont, where he would go to enjoy the wildlife and peaceful outdoors. Fred graduated from the old Sullivan County High School, in Sonestown, in 1960. In 1963, he married Joyce A. Richley, and together they raised four children. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Fred previously worked at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville for 24 years before retiring from MetFab after 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Keeler, of Montoursville; three daughters, Christina Baier, of Montoursville, Donna McCarty, of Forksville, and Kathleen (James) Silver, of Montoursville; a son, H.C. Frederick Keeler, Jr., of Muncy; eight grandchildren, Jamie McCarty, Logan McCarty, Sara Baier, Maggie Baier-LaBelle, Gene Baier, Jameson Keeler, Jasmine Silver, Daxston Silver; a brother, Samuel (Diane) Keeler, of Harrisburg, and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother Richard Keeler.
There will be a private family memorial service.
