George Ulrich, 55, of Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, surrounded by his family under the care of Gatehouse at Divine Providence, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
Born on December 29, 1968, in Reading, PA, George was the beloved son of the late Carrie (Ulrich) Ross. He graduated from Ephrata High School, Class of 1988. George shared 36 wonderful years with his high school sweetheart, Melissa Sue Landis, whom he married on September 10, 1988. George was the implementer and project manager of all Melissa’s visions, bringing her ideas to life with his intuition and dedication.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, George enjoyed riding his Harley through the countryside with the Sullivan County Schoenecians, fishing, hunting, and boating with friends and family. As a die-hard Steelers fan, he loved cheering on the gold and black every Sunday. George had a green thumb, creating life in outdoor planting projects, especially his custom-made pond. He worked as a foreman for High Erectors in Lancaster for over 35 years and most recently as an operator with PennDOT.
George is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; daughter, Jacqueline (Timothy) Dietrich of Robesonia; son, Beau Ulrich of Womelsdorf; granddaughter, Liliana; grandson, Emerson; and three siblings: Ava Earhart of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Gilbert Ross of Ephrata, and Robert (Jimmy) Ross of NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister in infancy, Kathy Anne.
A celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30th, from 2-4 P.M. at Cherry Grove Church, 171 Elk Lick Road, Muncy Valley, PA. A second service will be held on Friday, December 6th from 4-7 P.M., at Eicher’s Art Center, 409 Cocalico Street, Ephrata, PA 17522.
