Fred A. Davis, 103

Fred A. Davis, 103, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024, at The Williamsport Home. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Edythe M. (Lowmiller) Davis, on March 14, 2017 with whom he shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories.

Born October 10, 1920, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles and Hattie (Hill) Davis.

Fred served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and later retired from Stroehmann’s Bakery as a machine operator after 20 years.

Fred attended Fairlawn Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, word search, and jigsaw puzzles. Fred was an avid Williamsport Crosscutter, Little League, and Williamsport High School basketball fan.

Surviving is his son, Dale E. Davis (Barb) of Williamsport and grandson, Jeff A. Davis.

He was also predeceased by his son, Bruce W. Davis and three brothers Dalton, Floyd, and Paul Davis.

A funeral service to honor the life of Fred will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Woodward Township Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
