Franklin L. Walker passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on September 4, 2020 at the age of 84. Frank was born on December 17, 1935 in Orviston, the son of the late McDowell and Mary Ann (Lucas) Walker.
He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Donna R. Walker, on June 4, 1955. He was preceded in death by Donna and his son, Timothy L. Walker.
Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His family was his joy in life and their love for him was without bounds. His warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew him. His smile lit up a room and his hugs could cure any and all troubles.
Frank was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where he served on church council and as an usher for many years. He was a 1953 graduate of Lock Haven High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958 as a Gunner’s Mate aboard the USS Newport News. He retired from International Paper Company as a Payroll Supervisor in 1992.
He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Emmet of Lancaster, a daughter-in-law, Patty Walker of Wellington, FL, two grandchildren, Michael Emmet Jr. and Mary Kathleen (Fraser) Davis, and his great-granddaughter, Gaia Emmet, who was the apple of his eye.
A memorial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Lock Haven.
