Elizabeth M. Nemeth, 95, of Williamsport, passed away at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center on Thursday April 28, 2022. Her husband Edward P. Nemeth passed away March, 2007.

She was born on February 21, 1927 in Scranton. She was a daughter of James and Elizabeth Howard McLaughlin.

Elizabeth was a graduate of St. John High School in Scranton. Following high school she worked for the Interior Department in Washington, D.C., and worked many years at Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. Elizabeth was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was a swimming instructor for the Rusty Hinges at the YWCA. Elizabeth was a life guard at both the YWCA and YMCA, retiring at the age of 86.

She is survived by three sons, Manus E. Nemeth of Warren, MI, Mark Nemeth of Williamsport, Edward Nemeth, Jr. of Williamsport; one daughter, Faith (Mike) Silvagni of Williamsport, three grandchildren, Kelsey Silvagni, Angelo Silvagni, Lydia Nemeth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport with Reverend John Chmil officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.
