Dorothy E. “Dottie” (Koch) Hoffman, 79, of Jersey Shore, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Haven Place in Lock Haven. She was born in Lock Haven on December 28, 1946, a daughter of the late Wesley and Thelma (McCracken) Koch.
Dottie worked at Woolrich earlier in life as a piece seamstress and then as a clerk at Bi-Lo. She married the love of her life, Robert R. Hoffman, on November 5, 1961, who survives. Dottie was a member of the Moose Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was artistic by nature, always painting and singing. Dottie was crafty and could be found knitting, crocheting, and sewing, even making clothing on request. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley. Bob took her on a trip to Graceland, which she especially cherished. She would complete crossword puzzles quickly, correctly, and in ink. Dottie enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the beach, and visiting Dollywood. Her greatest achievement was her family. She was a proud mother and wife, raising Angie and Bob with love and doting on Robert for 64 years.
Besides her husband, Robert, Dottie is survived by a son, Robert W. Hoffman (Margaret) and a daughter, Angie Hoffman all of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Christina DeReamer (Nate), Robert J. Hoffman, Amber Beard (Brad), and Jake Laubscher (Ali); four great grandchildren, Addison DeReamer, Hunter Hoffman, Margaret and Meredith Beard; two brothers, Wesley Koch and Patrick Koch (Michelle); a sister, Sally Bechdel (Jack); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dottie is preceded in death by a brother Jeffrey T. Koch, sisters-in-law, Shirely Koch and Leah (Clair) Renninger; a brother-in-law, Robert Cowfer; and mother and father-in-law, Robert and Pauline Hoffman.
In keeping with Dottie’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dottie’s name to Bella’s Enduring Hope Cat Sanctuary at https://www.facebook.com/share/1FCD5nsWg4/?mibextid=wwXIfr.
