Doris J. (Handley) Gibbs, 84, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Williamsport North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Watsontown on August 25, 1940.

Doris worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area. She enjoyed fishing, camping and watching western movies. Doris liked to go on walks and tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doris is survived by five sons, Austin, Gerald, “Cowboy G.” (Sherry), Gary and Howard Grossnickle; three daughters, Beverly Grossnickle, Kim Grossnickle and Austina (Vic) Edwards; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a son, Vern Grossnickle; and two daughters, Shonda and Rhonda Grossnickle.

A graveside service will take place at 10:30am on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hughesville with Pastor Bixler officiating.
