Donald William Hartman, 83, a resident of Loyalsock Township, passed away on August 10, 2019. Born May 9, 1936 in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of William Harold Hartman and Marion Williams Hartman. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert H. Hartman and son, William W. Hartman.
Don was a 1954 graduate of Williamsport High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Lycoming College in 1962, winning the Trask Chemistry Prize. He was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. He was employed as an engineer at GTE Sylvania Lighting Products for 20 years.
Don was a lifelong avid photographer with a passion for observing and photographing the local wildlife of Rose Valley Lake, Montour Preserve, Pine Creek, and neighboring counties.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa E. Hartman, of Baltimore, MD.
A private service was held by the family.
Arrangements were handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
