Dolly Ann Yoder, 85, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 surrounded by family. She was reunited with the love of her life and husband of nearly 68 years, Samuel P. Yoder, who preceded her in death on October 18, 2023.
Born October 5, 1938, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Edith I. Brownson and David S. Casper.
Dolly spent her career as an operator for Checkpoint Communications, where many customers appreciated the warm welcome received on the other end of the phone. After retirement, she found happiness in assisting others in their job at the communications center.
Dolly was a woman who enjoyed the little things in life. She relished the challenge of a good brain-teasing puzzle, loved to watch birds and especially cardinals, and enjoyed feeding the squirrels by hand. Dolly enjoyed brisk walks all over town, from Grampian Hills to Brandon Park. Her family knew her cooking as second to none and her baked goods were always sure to satisfy.
She is survived by three children, Samuel C. Yoder (Teresa) of Richmond, VA, Melody A. Williamson (Joseph) of Williamsport, and Nicholas P. Yoder (Rhonda) of New Columbia; eleven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Jia Zhang Yoder.
Along with her husband and parents, Dolly was preceded in death by a son, Anthony C. Yoder, a daughter Lisa L. Ross, and her beloved cat, Woody.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Boniface Cemetery, Williamsport.
