Diane E. Leonard, 72, of Montoursville, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 5, 1948, in Williamsport, the daughter of, James P. and Rhoda M. Jackson.
Diane doted over her kids and grandkids who loved her endlessly in return. Her favorite times would be spending the holidays with sometimes 30 of them in one house, loud, crazy, and chaotic for sure but she loved every minute of it. She equally enjoyed spending quiet afternoons with her husband, Gary and two dogs, they both made her very happy. The little things made Diane the happiest, she never wanted or needed extravagance, just a beautiful and simple life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vicki S. Bryan and two brothers, James E. and Robert L. Jackson.
Surviving is her loving husband of over 40 years, Gary E. Leonard and five children, Victoria M. (Robert Wenner) Jackson, Joanna G. (Floyd L. II) Bilbay, Bryon M. (Angela) Bower, Calvin D. (Lisa) Bower, and Kathy L. (Seth) Magargle.
Thanks to her beautiful, blended family, she was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who knew her as grandma, grammy, mee-ma and “G” Ma. She had a special connection to each and every one of them.
She gave cancer a good fight but, in the end, she gave way and let the Lord take her home.
Diane’s last years were spent living with Gary in Montoursville, however Hillsgrove will always be their home.
Those that knew Diane loved her, those that loved her will miss her. Rest now our beautiful wife, mother and grandmother.
There will be a graveside service Wednesday, December 9, 2020 11:30 at Hillsgrove cemetery with Rev. Linda Renninger officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
