Debra B. “Deb” Sampson, 57, of South Williamsport, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Kenneth Sampson.
Born January 31, 1962, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John M., Sr. and Pauline (Slater) Brooks.
Deb was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory High School, received her bachelor’s degree in business from Pierce College, and served her country in the United States Air Force. She was currently employed at United Concordia for 19 years. She was a woman of faith and attended various local churches. Deb enjoyed gardening, shopping, and cooking, but most of all loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, surviving are three sons, Andrè Tariq King, Jerome Khalif Shields, and Anthony Khari Shields, all of Williamsport, eight grandchildren including A’leena and Andrè, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, Kwasi Olusolo, Dwayne, and Adrian Brooks, all of Philadelphia, many nieces and nephews including Aliyah A. and Sharif K. LeSueuer, and brother-in-law Earl Sampson (Karen), of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Belinda Renee LeSueuer.
A funeral service to honor the life of Deb will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 17 at First United Methodist Church, 2 Ross Street, Williamsport with the Rev. Sam Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service at First United Methodist Church.
