David J. Allen, 75, of Montoursville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

He was born in Williamsport on March 16, 1947 to the late Galen and Marion (Seewald) Allen. David was a member St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Williamsport. He was a graduate of South Williamsport High School, class of 1965. David was married to the former Joanne Cohen on May 3, 1969. They celebrated 53 wonderful years of marriage together. David was retired from Stroehmann Bakeries after 40 years of work as an internal auditor. He was a former member of the Republican Club and the VFW. David was a sports enthusiast. He loved baseball and recently, the Phillies were his team. David also played softball and talked sports with his grandchildren and nephews. He loved to travel and visit many sports stadiums.

In addition to his wife Joanne, David is survived by a son, Michael (Kari) Allen of Naples, Florida; two grandchildren, Daniel Allen of Atlanta, Georgia; and Leah Allen of Hoboken, New Jersey; a brother, James “Jim” (Mary) Allen of Duboistown; a sister, Gale Nuss of Williamsport; two nephews, Christopher (Melissa) Allen of Milford, New Jersey; and Matthew Allen of Duboistown; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

David is preceded in death by his parents and two aunts, Helen Seewald and Mildred Allen.

A visitation will be held at 9:00am on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth Street, Williamsport. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation beginning at 10:00am with Reverend David Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
