David E. “Dave” Reider, 67, of Williamsport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born May 10, 1958, in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John and Jane (Evans) Reider.

Dave was a 1976 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School. He began farming after graduating but eventually went on to work as a roofer for over 20 years, during which he was part owner of R&C Roofing.

Whether it was to play cards, tell some jokes, or help someone in need, he loved being around his family and friends. He was known for being a great storyteller which many were drawn to. Dave was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was passionate about the outdoors and kept detailed journals of the wildlife he observed in his orchard.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristie Reider, of Elizabethtown; five sisters, Carolyn Good (John), Janie Gockley (Troy), Linda Bears (widow of Donald), Sally Lewis (widow of Bill), all of Elizabethtown, and Paula Thorleifson (Tom), of Lake Stevens, WA; and a brother, Jack Reider (Mariann Wetzel), of Elizabethtown, as well as 3 nieces and 8 nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by both of his parents, John and Jane Reider.

Services will be private and at the convenience of family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
