Darla J. Watkins, 72

Darla J. Watkins, 72, of Lock Haven passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 26, 1947 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Evelyn Carpenter White.

Darla was a 1965 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On July 26, 1975 she married her love, Robert L. “Ted” Watkins, with whom she celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Darla was employed at Bobbie Brooks and then D & B Sewing Factory. She also waitressed for parties at Clinton Country Club.

She attended Castanea United Methodist Church.

In her early years, she liked fishing alongside of her husband. More recently she enjoyed shopping- often proving the statement “shop ‘til you drop” true as well as taking many photos. Darla loved her dog, Nunu. Most of all, she cherished the many times she spent babysitting her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her step-daughter, Rene (Harry) Breon of Antes Fort; her sister, Linda (Frank) White Lyons of Castanea; her brother, Ronald White of Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Annabelle Shetler of Lock Haven; two grandchildren: Jessica and Ashton Breon; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Annie Watkins; her brother-in-law, Samuel “Tink” Watkins, Jr.; and a nephew, Gregory Mitchell.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.

Memorial contributions in Darla’s name may be made to the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 to assist with funeral expenses.
