Darla F. Burkhart, 65, of Upper Fairfield Township, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born on October 14, 1955, in Williamsport, the daughter of Eugene T. and Elanor J. (Harman) Bonnell.
Darla and her husband celebrated 39 years together on October 24, they were married by Rev. David Reed at the Farragut United Methodist Church where she was a member. She graduated from State Beauty School and had a beauty shop in her home, enjoyed puzzle books, crocheting, and playing computer solitaire.
Both Darla and her husband have fostered over 30 children, she loved her grandchildren and children, especially babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, E. Jeanette Tilburg; brother, Todd E. Bonnell; and infant sister, Carol J. Bonnell.
Surviving in addition to her husband, David L. Burkhart, of Montoursville, is daughter, Nicole M. (James IV) Gordon, and their children, Christina, Leia, and James V., of NC.; daughter, Danielle F. Irvin, and her children, Wyatt, Ann, and Toby, of Williamsport; daughter, Dyln J. Burkhart, of Williamsport; son, David L. Burkhart, Jr., and his children, Athena, Natalye, and Cody, of Williamsport; brother, Dale T. Bonnell, Sr., of Cogan Station; and brother, Steven L. (Kathy) Bonnell, of NC.
A private family viewing will be held.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, December 28, 2020, 11:30 a.m., in Green Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor David W. Trostle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Farragut Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 61 State Route 864, Montoursville, PA 17754.
Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
