Dale W. Campbell, 84, of Williamsport, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 31, 2020 surrounded by family at his home. Surviving is his loving wife of 36 years, Helen L. (Holdren) Ranck Campbell who he married on March 31, 1984.
Born July 14, 1935 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Silas Spears and Gertrude Cora (Hinkel) Campbell.
He was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Dale worked at PG&W as a foreman for 37 years until retirement. He was a member of Faxon Bowling League and F.&A.M. Lodge #106 Williamsport. Dale loved golfing and was a member of White Deer Golf Course where he played in their Monday Grasshoppers League and enjoyed an occasional cigar. Dale was an active member of Central Baptist Church where he served in many capacities such as trustee, deacon, chairman of ushers, and a Sunday school superintendent. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his step-daughters, Linda Rolley (David) of Montoursville, and Lori Engel (Lear) of Nisbet; four grandchildren, Marissa Rolley (Trevor), Tanner Rolley, Carly Engel and Jamie Koletar (Nate); also surviving are daughters, Jackie Campbell and Mari Landry (Brian) both of CT; grandchildren Arianna and Nathaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert D. Campbell and Mark J. Campbell and his siblings, Verna MacMillian, Miriam Whitmeyer, Patty Wert, Kenneth Campbell, Warren Campbell, Doris Artley, and Harold Campbell.
A public graveside service will be held 11:30 am Friday, April 3 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, 62 Rte. 54, Montgomery. Due to current regulations we ask that social distancing be maintained at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church 601 Seventh Ave. Williamsport.
