Charles G. Hunter, 76

Charles G. Hunter, 76, of Flemington passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born October 14, 1947 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Paul and Martha (Page) Hunter, Sr.

Charlie was a 1967 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

On August 20, 1976, he married the former Ruth A. Tressler, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Charlie was a dedicated worker, being employed as a paver by Lee Bowman’s and then Hawbaker’s.

He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Beech Creek American Legion and Jersey Shore VFW.

Charlie loved life and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked playing BINGO and going to the casinos.

In addition to his wife, Ruth Hunter of Flemington, he is survived by his daughter, Holly Hunter of Flemington; his siblings: Mary Kay Hunter and Judy Walter, both of Lock Haven, Fred Hunter of Kansas City and Deb Neff of Mill Hall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Angela Walter.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Beverly Bradley, Peggy Heimer and Paul Hunter, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10 AM at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Interment with Military Rites will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday, January 12 from 6 until 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
