Charles A. Stahl, Sr., 86, of Montoursville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy L. (Roupp) Stahl whom he married August 9, 1958 and shared 60 blissful years with until her passing in 2019.
Born August 6, 1936 in Williamsport he was a son of the late Arthur and Stella (Bortz) Stahl.
Charles attended Williamsport High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. For 23 years he and his wife owned and operated Stahl’s Meat Market in Williamsport where they enjoyed working together and creating lasting friendships with their customers.
Charles was a member of Nippenose Bible Fellowship and was a Free & Accepted Mason of Pennsylvania. Charles and Nancy spent many winters in Zephyr Hills Florida. He also enjoyed camping, going to flea markets, doing yard work and watching action movies.
Surviving are two children, Cathy A. Crossley (Alan) of Rauchtown and Charles A. “Charlie” Stahl, Jr. of Montoursville; two grandchildren, Jennifer M. Milbrand (Matthew) of Rauchtown and Matthew R. Stahl (Tara) of Wilkes-Barre; three great-grandchildren, Arianna, Jessalyn, and Jordan; three sisters-in-law, Maxine Stahl of Montoursville, Gloria Cicerale (Richard) and Sharon Pfirman (Dan) all of Linden; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Midnight.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers Frank and George Stahl and a sister-in-law Nealy Stahl.
A funeral service to honor the life of Charles will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport with the Rev. David McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at Sanders.
