Carl E. Bennett, 72, of Montoursville, passed away on September 20, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
He was born August 5, 1949, in Williamsport, son of the late Robert and Ruth (Gottschall) Bennett.
Carl was a Vietnam Marine War veteran. He worked at Schnadig Corporation, and worked as security for the Little League World Series for 14 years. He was a member of The Warrensville Hunting Club. He was an avid fisherman, and hunter, enjoyed softball and was an umpire for little league for 50 years, he also umpired for PIAA HS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his significant other of 28 years, Constance M. Morse; son, Travis (Kristie) Rechel; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Berry; step daughters, Valerie (Marco) Lavallee and Vicki (fiancé Jamie Shoemaker) Runner; brother, Lynn (Pat) Bennett; sister, Kay (Joe) Remsnyder; three grandchildren, Owen Berry, Teagan and Kieran Rechel; four step grandchildren, Ava Marie Lavalle, Logan Michael Lavalle, Avery and Carter Runner.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Montoursville Little League, P.O. Box 237 Montoursville, PA 17754.
