Carl Allen Weaver, 92

Carl Allen Weaver, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Williamsport, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD from pneumonia.

Carl was born in Hughesville on May 10, 1926 and was the son of the late Howard A. and Helen (Maneval) Weaver. He graduated from Hughesville High School, served with the United States Navy (1944-1946) in the Pacific Theater and later graduated from Lycoming College (1974). Carl worked for 30 years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the accounting department. Upon retirement, he worked part-time at the American Red Cross and then as a bank courier.

Carl was married to the late Lucille M. (Tebbs) Weaver for 67 years until her death on October 15, 2017.

He was a life-long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Williamsport. He was a Stephen Minister for several years and served in the church choir for 50 years. While in Hagerstown, MD he attended St. John’s Lutheran Church.

He was a member of the Lycoming Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, a charter member of the Bar Hill Hunting Club, a member of the Loyalsock Lions Club and became a 61-year member of the Williamsport Lodge 106 Free and Accepted Mason, 32-degree Scottish Rite at the Valley of Williamsport.

Carl is survived by one son, Craig A Weaver, (Sandra) of Hagerstown, MD, two daughters, Cynthia A Nester (John) of Williamsport and Christine A. Weaver Brown (David) of Denver, CO., and two grandchildren, Emily of Baltimore, and Benjamin of Hagerstown. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by an older brother, Charles.

A memorial service will be held at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport on December 1, 2018, 1:00 pm. His ashes will be placed in the church’s Columbarium (next to his wife) at the conclusion of his service. A reception, celebrating his life, will follow in Fellowship Hall and his wishes are that everyone will attend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
