Bruce Kay Davis, 73

Bruce Kay Davis, 73, of McElhattan passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at his home.

Born February 7, 1949 in Tyrone, Bruce was a son of the late Nevin Cryder and Thelma Ruth Wilson Davis.

He was a graduate of State College Area High School and went on to attend Penn State University majoring in mathematics.

In June 1991, Bruce married his love, the former Terri J. Shore, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage before his passing.

Throughout the years, Bruce held various positions at Weis Markets including Assistant Manager at a State College location. Years later, he was employed as a Tester and Inspector of Product at Chemcut until his retirement.

Bruce lived life as the “common” man but was his own rare person. He was resourceful, intelligent, gentle, and fun-loving. He enjoyed caving with family, sailing his Sunfish at Stone Valley, riding his road dirt bike in Rothrock State Forest and trout fishing its streams, watching the Nittany Lions and Steelers football games, and hanging out with his group of Boalsburg and Weis buddies. These were the simple things which he loved and flourished in.

In addition to his wife, Terri Davis of McElhattan, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Glen) Croft of Coconut Creek, FL; a sister, Christine Tate of Bellefonte; and his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nevin Wilson Davis.

Services will be held at the convenience of his family.

His family wishes to thank the team of caregivers at UPMC Family Hospice, Williamsport who helped give Bruce a proper send-off.

Memorial contributions in Bruce’s name may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Lung Association, c/o Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
