Betty M. (Wertman) Dantonio, 88, passed away at her home in Elimsport, surrounded by her family on Monday, April 6, 2020. She was cared for with the loving hands of her daughter and husband, Rita and John Foreman.
She was born on May 21, 1931 in Danville, PA to Harry I. and Helen (Wolfe) Wertman.
Betty graduated from Danville High School in 1949.
On October 22, 1949 she married the love of her life, Louis A. Dantonio, Jr. Together they had a son and two daughters.
Betty and Lou enjoyed traveling together as well as spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. Betty’s hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening, home canning, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She was a breast cancer survivor of 48 years.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years Louis; a son Terry L. (Linda) Dantonio of New Columbia; two daughters, Rita A. (John) Foreman, Jr. of Newport and Patti J. (John) Wolfe of Elimsport; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two step-great granddaughters; a sister, Sarah (Wertman) Brogan and a brother, Harold Wertman both of Danville.
Due to the Coronavirus, there will be no viewing, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Montoursville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, Allenwood, in her honor.
