Bernard J. Waldman, passed away at home on Feb. 29, 2020, at the age of 90.
Born in Williamsport, he was a son of Joseph Waldman and Helen (Engler) Waldman.
Bernard graduated from the former St. Mary’s High School, now St. John Neumann Regional Academy. He worked at A & P (Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.) for 42 years where he retired as a meat manager.
Bernard was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church where he was very active in bingo, the school board and PAPA altar servers.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons at Sunny Side Hunting Club, where he was a lifetime member.
He was married to Mary Ann (Eck) Waldman for 65 years.
He leaves behind four children Julia Gotts (Greg), Mark Waldman (Heidi), Paul Waldman (Dina), David Waldman (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Rye, Cassy (Valentino), Trey, Hannah, Rachel, Brent and Katie Waldman.
In addition to his parents, siblings, Sister Helen Joseph S.C.C., Ann Deichmann, Dorothy Waldman, James and Carl Waldman, Rita Hall, George Waldman and his infant brother Robert all preceded him in death.
The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Friday at 10 a.m., with his pastor, Rev. William Corcoran, officiating, burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Bernard’s name may be made to the, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central PA Chapter, 101 Erford Road, Suite 201, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
