Anthony L. “Tony” Cipriani, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 7, 1936, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Nicola and Marion (Staccone) Cipriani.
Tony proudly served his country in the United State Navy, protecting our country during the Korean War. For over 50 years, he was an accomplished roofer in the Williamsport area.
On February 6, 1954, Tony married the love of his life, Joan L. (Heaton) Cipriani. Together they shared 68 beautiful years of love and devotion until her passing on February 4, 2022.
Tony was a member of the Moose Club #145 in South Williamsport as well as the American Legion Post #1, the Republican League, and the Sons of Italy.
Above all else, Tony was a devoted family man who loved to spend time with his beloved Joanie, seven children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and riding bikes as well as playing games of five crowns with his family.
Surviving are six children, David Cipriani (Mary Ann), Mark Cipriani (Lea Ann), Alan Cipriani (Laurie), Christine Fischer (Doug), Barbara Stetts (Robert), and Keith Cipriani (Sherri); 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kim Cipriani; a sister-in-law, Barbara Kreamer; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Scott Cipriani; a grandson, Rory Cipriani; his siblings, Richard, Joseph, and Nicholas Cipriani, Helen Scoppa, Elvira Portanova, Louise Portanova and Florence Girio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 6, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with his pastor The Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday December 5, at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s name to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. 4th St, Williamsport, PA 17701 or the River Valley Regional YMCA Williamsport Branch, 641 Walnut St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
