Allen L. Phoenix, Sr. 82, of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Williamsport Home. His wife Patricia G. Phoenix passed away on March 15, 2022.

Born on July 28, 1941 in Williamsport, he was the son of Samuel and Wanda Sunderland Phoenix.

Allen was a 1959 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a truck driver delivering propane gas for several different companies. Allen and his wife owned and operated Phoenix Sub Shop on Memorial Ave. from 1977 until 1990. Allen served his country in both the U.S. Air Force and the U. S. Army Reserves. He was a past president and life member of the Republican League, enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards, and spending time with his family at the river lot.

He is survived by two daughters, Denise (David) Updegraff of Montoursville, Patricia (Steve) Leidhecker of Cogan Station; two sons, James Bower of Williamsport, Paul E. (Stella) Bower of South Williamsport, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Allen L. Phoenix, Jr.

Funeral services will private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Montoursville.

The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Allen’s name be made to Lycoming SPCA, 2801 Lycoming Creek Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
