Allen Duane Koch, Sr., 86, of Muncy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 26, 2024.
Born May 20, 1938 in Muncy, he was the son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Alta M. (Laylon) Koch.
Allen served in the National Guard Reserves from 1956-1958. Allen retired from Crawford Doors, Williamsport. He later worked for Interstate Motor Freight, did carpentry work and was a devoted Shopper Deliverer.
He enjoyed family time playing cards and other games on the weekends. Allen was always tinkering in his garage or on things around the house.
Allen spent some time the last two years between the homes of his daughters, Cindy and Karen. He enjoyed helping Karen and Mike out on their farm and spent the last few weeks in the care of Cindy.
Surviving are his six children, Bonnie Belisle, of Elimsport, Cindy Lewis, of Benton, Allen “Duane” Koch, Jr. (Marla), of Harleton, Edward “Ed” Koch (Tammy), of Muncy, Michael “Doug” Koch (Joi Boyer), of Muncy and Karen Derr (Mike), of Muncy; former wife, Nancy Sassamen; and numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. Allen will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Laverne, Dison and Clarence Koch; two sisters, Twila McCoy and Velva Myers; and two grandchildren, Nichole and Samuel Derr.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Allen’s name be made to Grenoble Funeral Home, to help defray expenses.
