‘Pippin’ Coming to the WAHS Stage March 15th-16th

The Williamsport Area High School music department is preparing for its annual musical production.

“Pippin” is set to hit the stage beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, March 15, with a matinee performance scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16.

The musical follows the journey of a young prince named Pippin as he searches for meaning and fulfillment in his life. Guided by a charismatic Leading Player and faced with various temptations, Pippin embarks on a quest for extraordinary experiences. Along the way, he encounters love, war, politics and self-discovery, ultimately learning that true happiness lies in the simple moments of ordinary life. Through its captivating storytelling, dynamic choreography, and memorable songs by Stephen Schwartz, “Pippin” explores themes of ambition, identity, and the pursuit of fulfillment.

Among the cast and crew of about 50 students, the production stars Xavier Johnston as Pippin, Olivia Ciabattari as Leading Player, William Ciabattari as King Charlemagne, Alanna Ramos as Catherine, Jaslin Shand as Fastrada, Elijah Nilson as Lewis, Johanna Pelly as Theo and Megan Radspinner as Berthe.

Directors Sam Robinson and Megan Louder, the high school’s choral instructors, said the cast and crew are excited to share their work with the community.

“We are immensely proud of the dedication and talent of our students throughout this musical journey,” said Director Sam Robinsnon, who, alongside Louder, also is working with choreographer Theresa Kendall. “Their tireless work and passion have brought the magic of this beloved musical to life on the WAHS stage.”

Robinson said audiences can look forward to exhilarating dance numbers and heartfelt performances.

“Every moment of the show reflects the camaraderie of our incredible cast and crew,” he added. “‘Pippin’ has been a true testament to the power of teamwork and the pure enjoyment of storytelling.”

Advanced tickets will be on sale at the WAHS main office during school hours beginning March 11 (cash or check only). Tickets also will be available at the door. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 students.
