Oh look! Another Christmas of Steph waiting until the absolute last minute to finish everything for Christmas! And not for any good reason, just because of who I am as a person. I swear, someday I’ll get myself together, but at this rate, I’m already behind on next Christmas!
I thought about enlisting some help from Tinsel McJingle, but I’m a little worried about her seeing Santa’s House downtown and not coming back! Plus, she’s a little sus with my credit card!
Speaking of the Coloring Contest, we are almost ready to announce the winners. Tinsel, Freddy, and Sparky have worked hard to sort them out and get them ready for judging! I’ll tell you what, I still don’t know how they did it, but I know letting them work from home — and by home, I mean Santa’s Workshop on Candy Cane Lane — has really seemed to make them more productive! I hope that Santa gives them a much-needed vacation when they get back to the North Pole. Just a little reward for all their hard work before they get back to making toys for all the boys and girls!
It always amazes me how many entries we get to our Coloring Contest! Hundreds of littles come out and show us their best artwork! You wouldn’t believe some of the work, effort, and talent that goes into some of these coloring pages! I’ll be finding glitter around the office for months! I absolutely love it! It honestly goes a long way towards helping me find my Christmas spirit every year!
We will have all the winners and participants listed in next week’s Christmas edition! As always, I can’t thank our local businesses enough for providing the great prizes! Huge shout out to Flyworld/Kaos Fun Zone, English Model Railroad, Elery Nau Hardware, Hooplas, Treasure Castle Playland, Harder Sporting Goods, AMC Theater, Dairy Queen, Trout Pond Park, and Outback Roos! And we will be giving a little bonus time to get your entries in. I know things have been a bit backlogged at the USPS, so I’ll give a couple of extra days to get your contests in. If you need an extra copy, you can find it pinned to the top of our Facebook page!
So, we know that I am behind the eight-ball as always, but how are your holiday plans coming along? Have you ticked everyone off your list? Have you been watching TikToks to learn how to wrap everything in spectacular fashion? Does your house smell like the North Pole itself with all your Christmas cookies? If this is you, can you please come help me! And bring wine! Obviously, you are a better adult than I am, come teach me your organized ways!
I did get my tree up early this year and am even doing a fairly good job of keeping it watered. I was a little concerned about our new cat seeing a tree for the first time, but she doesn’t seem bothered by the tree in the least. We did have one minor incident where Bulleit forgot the difference between inside trees and outside trees and tried to help me ‘water’ it, but honestly it was so funny it was hard to be mad!
I hope that your holiday plans are coming together, and if they aren’t — come sit next to me and we can be Christmas failures together!
