Step right up and play the game! Boys and girls, goblins and ghouls! Everyone has a chance to win a prize!
It is time once again for Webb Weekly’s annual Halloween contest! This is my FAVORITE contest of the year, and I always look forward to picking out what we will be searching for and counting each year. I’m sure you know how this works, but just in case you forgot, let me refresh your memory.
Sprinkled throughout this issue, you will find a variety of Halloween Friends. We usually do different examples of the same ‘species,’ so to speak, but this year we are mixing things up and doing a variety of Halloween Friends! The rules of the game are simple. Count up all the little friends you find in October 14th and October 21st editions of the paper. Then take the total of the two weeks together and send them to me. Easy as pie…
I will then take everyone who answered correctly and pick ten random winners. Winners will receive a bucket full of goodies big enough to make an Oompa Loompa blush! Seriously, I should be apologizing to local dentists — or maybe asking for a cut! Please do not underestimate the amount of candy and goodies the winners will receive. I hit the stores like Grandpa Joe hit the Fizzy Lifting Drinks.
The easiest way to enter the contest is to email the answer to contest@webbweekly.com, or you can drop a postcard in the snail mail at Webb Weekly, 280 Kane St., Suite 2, South Williamsport, PA 17702. Or, if you are so inclined, you can drop your entry off at our office; we are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Entries must be submitted by October 23rd around noon or so and only one entry per person. Winners will be listed in the October 28th edition. But I’ll call or email the winners before that.
Remember, the contest is only open to kiddos 12 and under.
Each year we rotate through the local animal shelters and donate $1 for each entry received. This year is the SPCA’s turn, so let’s help the sweet fur babies! Be sure to get your entries in and help support a great cause. Plus, ya know — candy. So. Much. Candy.
So, look carefully and count them up! I get a little sneaky when I place them, so make sure you check every page closely!
You better shake rattlesnake! Get counting, and good luck!!
A Halloween contest can only mean that fall is here and Halloween is right around the corner! Have you picked your costume yet?
We’d love to hear about you and/or your kids’ Halloween costumes, so share it with us on Facebook, or better yet, post some pictures!
If I receive enough pictures via Facebook (fb.com/webbweekly) and/or email (webbnews@webbweekly.com), maybe you’ll see your little one on an upcoming cover! You can even attach the picture to your email entry (contest@webbweekly.com).
Before I scram, little lamb, I’ve got one more bit of Halloween fun! On Halloween night, the Crosscutters will be hosting ‘Boomer’s Drive-Thru Trick or Treating’ at Bowman Field! While you are out and about, be sure to stop by and see Boomer and the gang and grab some extra goodies with no contact trick or treating from your car! The event runs from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and there will be over a dozen candy stops! The event is free for kids 14 and under in costume!
Now, I gotta run skeleton! Enjoy the spooky season!
