In a sports summer that took so many smiles from the faces of adults and children alike, golf proved a source of outdoor fun and release for many.

After a spring stuck inside, families were able to enjoy an afternoon sharing in good shots and bad — but doing it together.

It’s that same sense of family that is the foundation of another golfing opportunity for our community. The 2nd Annual Dwell Orphan Care Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, September 20 at the White Deer Golf Complex.

Dwell Orphan Care exists to support foster and adoptive families in Lycoming County and beyond, so that children have a safe, loving, and forever home to call their own.

The commitment made by an adoptive family to give a child that home is not only extremely joyful, but also extremely challenging. Like their adopted child, they too need the support and love of many to ensure they can survive through the many demands that face them. The opportunity to help these families and have a joyful day in doing it is waiting for you to sign up.

Four person teams will compete in a scramble format event with individual contests as well. Player registration opens at noon and play begins with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Cost per player is $100.
