Tacoma, a German Shepard/Malamute mix, has been selected to be the newest member of the Williamsport Bureau of Police K9 Unit.
The revitalization of the K9 program in Williamsport was made possible by a donation of $43,861 by Cioccia Dealerships.
Officer Tyson Minier will be handling Tacoma, who will be trained at Shallow Creek Kennels.
City Councilwoman Bonnie Katz was instrumental in the resurgence of the program and was on the forefront in getting everything and everyone together to make getting Tacoma possible.
We will have a full story on Tacoma and the K9 Program in Williamsport next week.
