With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about how children who receive free or reduced-priced lunch in school will eat healthy while school is out. Summer Alive provides free meals to children during the summer. You can come for a day of fun with your family to the kickoff event on June 3rd and learn more about Summer Meals.
Summer Alive will be at Montgomery Park, 119 1st St., Montgomery, on June 3rd-July 25, Monday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to attend meal services. More information is available at www.summeralive.org.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Summer Alive to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Anyone age 18 or younger may come and eat. Breakfast is served at 9 a.m., Lunch is served at noon.
Activities like music, art, gardening, recreation and sports is offered between breakfast and lunch. Donations of $5 and up, based on what families can afford, are requested for participation in activities. Volunteer or register your child on our website www.summeralive.org.
