In their seventh year of presenting this event, National Sporting Goods of Jersey Shore, PA is proud to offer FREE admission and FREE parking for the 2018 Shooting Expo at the Consolidated Sportsman’s Association. It will be held on Saturday, September 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no age limit to attend, however those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The event is open to everyone and encourages families to attend and spend the day.
The Expo continues to expand and improve. This year more than 33 manufacturers will present their products, many of which will be available to shoot, thus providing the public with the unique opportunity to ask questions of the maker’s representatives and actually fire various firearms they may be interested in purchasing. This is a rare and unusual chance to have this “hands-on” time before you decide which firearm is right for you. Your only cost is for the actual ammo that you shoot. How many times have you looked at a particular handgun, shotgun or rifle and wished that you could actually fire it before buying it to make sure it is really what you wanted? Or, think back to the times you may have purchased a firearm, only to discover after you paid for it that it did not really perform as you had hoped? This all-day event will allow you the chance to “try before you buy.”
For the very first time, at this year’s Expo, Team Glock — Shane Coley and Ashley Rheuark — will be in attendance. They will be at the Glock booth where they will sign autographs and answer questions of attendees and work with shooters. At a time to be announced, they will put on a competition exhibition. There will also be two rare one-on-one training sessions that some lucky winner can win through a raffle. Being able to have some face time with Shane and Ashley and watch their competition exhibition is reason enough to attend the Expo, but having the possibility of a personal training session makes it all the better!
The Army National Guard will be displaying some of their armored Humvees and will erect their portable rock climbing wall. Stop by at their station and try your hand at climbing the wall — after all, it is FREE of charge!
Zeiss, one of the top optics makers in the world, will present a “Long Range Challenge” allowing attendees to experience the ease of long-range shooting when shooters use the proper equipment.
New this year is the “Range Crawl.” You will receive a free punch card at registration and as you visit the various manufacturers on the card, have your card punched. Turn in your card for a chance at some valuable gift cards. Did I mention that the punch card is FREE?
Speaking of FREE, there will be more door prizes (including two guns) than ever before and literally thousands of dollars worth of giveaways! Door prizes will be announced every 30 minutes and winners will have 30 minutes to claim their prize. You MUST be present to win.
The raffle for the two Glock one-on-one training sessions with Shane Coley and Ashley Rheuark of Team Glock will be drawn at 3:45 p.m. and the winner must be present. The two sessions will then be held from 4-5 p.m.
There is also good news about the cost of ammo. First, you will only pay for the ammo you shoot. But, additionally, this year because of a partnership with Fiocchi – the provider of ammo — the price will be less than in previous years.
The Consolidated Sportsman’s Association just north of Montoursville on Route 87 is always a picturesque and enjoyable destination and this year’s Shooting Expo will prove to be even bigger and better than before. Plan to arrive early and stay late. There will be plenty to do and see and the more time you spend, the greater the chances will be of winning one of the many FREE prizes!
