May 1st Alex Reed a sophomore from Loyalsock and Connery McFadden a senior from Saint John Neumann met with Congressman Tom Marino to discuss the Lycoming County Youth Development Taskforce.  Alex and Connery presented information on the areas of focus for the YDTF and asked for Marino’s support.  Alex and Connery spoke about the recent grant the PA Attorney General awarded the YDTF called the 2018 Community Drug Prevention Grant for $16,650 to continue work on substance abuse prevention and increase awareness of mental health. Congressman Marino commended the Taskforce on their efforts to bring awareness in hopes of prevention to the challenges that our youth face today and offered his full support going forward. He plans to attend a monthly meeting and some of the organized events the YTDF sponsors.
