A truly inspiring fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 3 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., when the sixth annual Roads To Freedom Wheelchair Basketball Tournament is held at Lycoming College’s Recreation Center.
This fundraiser allows Roads to Freedom to cover funding gaps for people of North Central Pennsylvania with disabilities who are interested in transitioning from costly, low-quality nursing facilities back to their own home. Through their Ramping Up Life Campaign, costs associated with obtaining affordable housing, home modifications, durable medical equipment, and quality services can be achieved to assure full independence of those in the community.
The Wheelchair Basketball fundraiser is also a Disability Awareness Training for all who attend. Each team as they give back to the members of our community, enhance their own team building skills and better understand some of the barriers people with disabilities live with.
The people at Roads to Freedom are reaching out to their community friends and partners in hopes that you will assist in making this the best event yet through a donation of your choice. Your donation or sponsorship of a team will help someone in our community obtain independence through increased access to their home and community by covering the cost of a ramp or other services to provide a higher quality of life. You can also help by registering a team or by being a vendor at the event. Please take a moment to view the pictures and video clip from last year’s Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on Roads To Freedom’s Facebook Page.
Every donation is important, and they want to thank you in advance for your consideration.
