Daily fixed-route bus service between Williamsport and Lock Haven began on Tuesday, February 20th at 5:45 a.m. and will operate six days a week. All rides on the new Clinton County bus routes will be free for the remainder of February during the introduction of the new bus service. “After years of planning at the state and local levels, River Valley Transit has successfully worked to add this important new service, and marks the first time buses will travel daily between the two cities,” said William E. Nichols Jr., River Valley Transit General Manager. “We have been very fortunate to have partners in Clinton County, the City of Lock Haven, PennDOT, Lock Haven University and others that have helped bring new bus transportation service across the region.”

The Monday-Saturday Clinton County Express and Clinton County Connector routes will accommodate work trips in the morning, afternoon, and early evening, as well as shopping, medical and other trips during the mid-day for bus patrons. Among the many bus stops notable locations include Lock Haven University Campus, Ross Library, Clinton County Community Center, First Quality, Lock Haven Hospital, U.S. Post Office, Weis, Lock Haven Gardens, WalMart, County Piper Building UPMC/Bald Eagle Court and others, as well as every block along the route in the City. Route schedules and maps are available online at http://www.rideRVT.com, on the MyStop MyRide smartphone application and in the printed Clinton County Ride Guide. Guides were available in various locations beginning around February 15th.

River Valley Transit’s mission is to provide public transportation service on a regional basis. Since its inception, the transit system has greatly expanded and currently serves three-quarters of the population of Lycoming County and now reaches into Clinton County.
