‘Meet the Performer’ Series with Erie Jazz Quintet Oct. 11
The Great Lakes Wind Symphony (GLWS) will debut its inaugural “Meet the Performer Series” on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m., featuring an intimate afternoon of jazz standards with the Erie Jazz Quintet.
The performance will take place in the Howard Theatre of the historic Scottish Rite, located at 348 Market St. in Williamsport.
Designed to foster a closer connection between the community and the stage, the new series allows patrons to personally interact with the musicians, ask questions about the repertoire, and learn about the performers’ professional backgrounds. Attendees will also enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages provided by local caterer The Food Guy.
The Erie Jazz Quintet is comprised of professional musicians from the main wind symphony roster, which names its specialized subgroups after the Great Lakes. The lineup features Eric Griffin on saxophones, Conrad Mailleue on upright bass, Wendy Griffin on vocals and piano, Abigail Rice on piano, and GLWS CEO and Artistic Director Dr. Adam F. Brennan on drums and vocals.
To preserve the intimate atmosphere of the Howard Theatre, seating is strictly limited to 75 guests. Advance tickets are highly recommended, as prices will increase by $5 at the door on the day of the event.
