Alfred “Al” Yeagle, 90

Alfred “Al” Yeagle, 90, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, surrounded by family. Born May 28, 1936, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late William and Minnie (Bartlow) Yeagle.

Al worked at several places over his lifetime starting at International Furniture followed by GTE Sylvania in Montoursville. He then went to work for a dear friend, Bill Tully, at his plumbing and heating business. Following this, he worked for Muncy Homes until finally retiring from Ward Manufacturing in 1998.

On March 2, 1957, Al married the love of his life, the former Evelyn Sherwood. They spent 50 wonderful years together until her passing on July 7, 2007. Alfred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Also, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and doing his own gunsmithing. He was also known for his love of Mausers. Al was a lifetime member of Hillside Rod and Gun Club, Blossburg.

Surviving are his daughters, Debra (Jeff) Richter of Hughesville and Michele (John Reese) Yeagle of Mansfield; a sister, Lois Rider; a grandson, Jared (Kristjana) Richter; great-grandchildren, Emma Richter, Spencer (Nate) Oerman, Kierstin Richter, Lillian Richter, and Jacob Richter; brothers-in law, Edward, Roger, and Steven (Donna) Sherwood; sisters-in-law Barbara (Gerald) Henninger, Delores McCormick, and Donna Sherwood; and many loved nieces, nephews and family members.

In addition to his parents and wife, Alfred was preceded in death by brothers, James Yeagle, Robert Yeagle; and Donald Bartlow; sisters, Ruth Harris, Arlene McCoy and Elma Mines; father-in-law John Sherwood; mother-in-law Mary Sherwood; and brothers-in-law Dale McCormick and James A. and Russel Sherwood.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
