Joe Rose, 86, of Muncy passed away peacefully Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 3, 1940, in Sayre, he was a son of the late William and Dolly (Little) Rose.
After attending Muncy High School, Joe entered the workforce, working for Allegheny Fabrics followed by Muncy Homes for over 20 years. He married his wife, the former Darliss Snyder, on May 6, 1960, and shared many wonderful years together until her passing in 2001.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, and pappy who enjoyed spending time with his family. Nordmont, PA was a special place to Joe. His parents and extended family lived here and owned the land that would become some of his favorite hunting spots. He was known for his love of camping, hunting, and fishing. Additionally, his family’s home in Nordmont was the location for many cherished family get-togethers. His family also fondly looks back at their trips to Canada, where Joe further fostered a love for the outdoors in his children.
Surviving are his children, Kim (Tammy) Rose of Muncy and Bonnie Rose of Lewisburg; sisters Delores (Kenneth) Frey of Muncy and Wilma Rishel of Milton; grandchildren Evan Rose, Erica (Curiel) Bame, Brooke Rose, Adam Rose, and Joseph Rose; great-grandchildren Kale Bame and Piper Rose.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by a son, Lee R. Rose On May 23, 2026.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E Water Street, Hughesville PA, 17737 with Rev. Kevin M. Lowe officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will occur at a later date at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont.
